Hi,

I tried that about half a year ago with the same setup (vlc+dss+sdp), and I
was also facing the same problem with the sound.
What device do you have? I have a Nokia 6630. The strange thing about it
was, that it played mp4/aac content locally without problems -- but when I
tried to stream the same mp4/aac content then there was no sound. Maybe it
is a problem with the device not supporting aac streamed over rtsp..?
Because that did not work, I tried to stream with amr/samr audio instead of
aac, but it failed because vlc does not officially support amr. Well, you
need to compile ffmpeg with amr enabled and then recompile vlc with the
amr-enabled ffmpeg. That allowed me to play amr files locally with vlc, but
streaming amr was not supported at this time...

If you get it work somehow, either with aac or amr/samr, please let me know!
@VLC team: is it by now possible to stream amr/samr with a self-compiled
ffmpeg lib? Did anyone succeed with that?

Cheers,
torben
