Hi Nav!
The first choice is to just install a http server like apache and upload
your clips in avi/divx format.
After that the clients can use VLC to see the clips. (my opinion is that VLC
is very good at this).
So: if you upload your files at /news/2004-02-08/1800.avi in your web
server,
the client sould use VLC and 'File -> Open Network Stream -> ' and type
http://yourserver.com/news/2004-02-08/1800.avi
The starting will take time of course but it depends on the connection speed
of both your PC and clients.
The second choice is to use VLC as a streaming server which will confuse you
a little (it's a sort of complicated).
The VLC team (they are verrry goood) implemented test rtsp server but you
have to configure it via telnet.
BUT, if your friends are behind a firewall or router that doesn't allow/pass
rtsp this will not work.
So by my personal opinion use http server and VLC as a client.
Greetings from Sofia,
Dani
