[streaming] Wot am i doink vrong???

I downloaded vlc 0.8.01 yesterday on my Apple G4 with OS10.3.7 to make  
my exteranal La Cie dvdrom work. However when i try to play a DVD, I  
only get a freeze frame. I included the crash log:
