[streaming] Transcoding Otions

Hi All,

    I have install the vlc-0.8.1 source package. But I am not able to 
trancode to any video format like mp2v, mp4v etc..
   
    I have installed following packages before installing VLC source.
       a.  FFMpeg-current.tar.bz2
      b.   libdvbpsi3-0.1.4.tar.gz
       c.  libmad-0.15.1b
       d.  mpeg2dec-0.4.0b.tar.gz
       e.  wxwindows2.4_2.4.2.6.1.tar.gz

    Please can anybody tell whether still I should install some other 
packages..
