[streaming] Hauppage win tv Nexus-s card

Hi Everyone,

  I am using Hauppage win tv Nexus-s card.I have one doubt whether sound
card is needed for this tv card?

why I am asking because one of my friend is also using the same card and
in his system there is no sound card but still the output from the card
which he streams video from vlc is getting audio clearly. I do know how
this is possible.

Can any one tell me the reason for this......
