I'm using Debian and the only thing I do is below. The L option is for
loop. Make sure you read the confusing Docs on vlc.
vlc -L file:///data/video-files/081406_wcsn_live_feed_tv_350.wmv
--sout #standard{mux=asfh,dst=,access=mmsh}
