Hello all.
I am working on a project where we are trying to stream several mpeg2
and 4 videos over a wireless network using multicast. I have managed to
devise a wireless network where I can get upwards of 24MBits/sec
multicast on the wireless link, but of course there is still packet loss.
Now that I have the bandwidth I need, my focus is shifting toward
forward error correction. I know there is FEC built into the receiving
logic of vlc (for DVB), but how about for the sending?
Ideally, I would like to be able to tell vlc to stream with "--fec 10
- --fec-alg 2" that would correct for a 10% packet loss using algorithm 2,
etc.
Is there anything like this for streaming with vlc?
Any help at all would be appreciated, including any other help with
streaming multicast on a wireless link! :)
