[streaming] continuous streaming?

I'm running a streaming server with an enormous playlist of .avi  
and .mp4 files.

Every time the server changes to a new file, the clients have to  
reconnect. I have scoured the web and the included help  
documentation, but I haven't found a way around this.

Can anyone offer  advice?
