[streaming] Diseqc problems using VLC + Spaun 17089NF multiswitch

I have a Spaun 17089NF 16-feed switch (4 sats * H/V * L/H), which is to
be controlled using Diseqc.
If I use szap from dvb-apps, everything is fine: the correct feed is
being selected and a lock is obtained.
But if I use VLC (0.8.6b Janus, with --dvb-satno=1/2/3/4), it does not
work however ..... Also vlc-0.8.6 does not work eitther.
I have compared the source code between VLC and Szap, but I cannot find
any implementation difference really. Also when I dump the DiSeqC
command string being sent, it is correct (in accordance with Eutelsat
specs) and identical to the DiSeqC command that is being sent by Szap.
It looks like there is something in the VLC implementation that causes
the Spaun switch to ignore the DiSeqC command, and it then uses
Voltage+22kHz instead.
Also if I first use szap to tune to the correct sat+pol+band, then
Ctrl-C followed by immediate start of vlc: it works. If I wait 10
seconds before I start VLC, then it does not work.
Anybody any suggestions?
