Hi,

i posted one mail in the mailing list a week ago and got a answer immediately. Thank you very much for the instant response. Some excerpts of the old corresondence can be seen below. I tried the following command as suggested :

vlc --ttl 12 -vvv -I telnet --telnet-password admin --control=telnet

and it really worked for the first time. BUT as I went on using this command, I found out that it is not stable. Sometimes you get connected through telnet but sometimes you don't. And I read further in VLC forums and found another suggestion to use following command :

vlc.exe --telnet-port XYZ -I wx --control telnet

it seems to work until now. The GUI starts if I use this command. But I don't want to have GUI. VLC should run in the background.

Why is vlc so unstable in windows? Is there any patch or any way to make it stable in windows xp?

Best regards
Sushil Adhikari
