[streaming] Using VLC to push a WMV stream to a CDN

In my application I am currently using a Windoze box running Windows
Media Encoder to generate a WMV stream, which I am then pushing to a CDN
(edgecast) for distribution to end users. I would, of course, prefer to
do this without having to run Redmond-ware.

It appears that I can generate a WMV stream from VLC to be served up
locally or via multicast, but I haven't been able to dig up any info on
how I could go about pushing said stream to a WMS server.

I understand how to push to a single IP (I think). What I'm not sure
about is how to handle the extra information the CDN needs. For example,
take a look at the screen shot at
http://i817.photobucket.com/albums/zz91/catdude60440/Work/WinMediaScreen.png.
That's the stream config page in Windows Media Encoder. It's asking for
server name (no biggy there) and publishing point.

Any suggestions? Or am I stuck running Redmond-ware in a VMware session?
