[Translators] question regarding the correct meaning of a string

I have this string:

msgid "Save the recently played items in the menu"

I can read this in two ways:
1. [save in the menu] the recently played items
or
2. save somewhere [the recently played items in the menu]

I suppose it is 1., but I am not sure.
