   It'll depend on your video card. If you are using the bare VESA
framebuffer drivers, you'll get poor performances, probably worse than
X11. When using an accelerated driver such as matroxfb or atyfb, it can
be faster than X11. Note that under X, XVideo is a lot faster than any
framebuffer driver.

   You'll have to stick with "-I dummy" until a text-based interface is
written.
