Segfault in 0.2.92-pre1

Hello folks.
I'm running the debian/unstable package for vlc 0.2.92-pre1, and the
.debs of libdvdcss off of videolan.org.

Anyway, when I click "disc", enter "/dev/dvd" and click ok, I get the
gnome crash screen telling me that VLC has crashed. 
Output from when I launch it from a text prompt is just 
"Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by C library"

Any ideas?
