Where to find QuickTime-Docu?

I don't know if anyone here has some experience in Mac programming.
I am still fighting with QuickTime (and my rare spare time too ;-) ).

I am having problems creating a "correct" 'ImageDescription' structure (this
is a structure describing the format of a image, but which does _not_
contain actual data).

If anyone has some experience in mac programming, or knows some ressources
on the web I would be thankfull if you helped me out ;-)
