[vlc-devel] Which platform?

I am developing a dvd authoring application. I currently have a precursor
version of the program running on OS X, using the Metrowerks CodeWarrior C++
IDE. My partner is in the process of porting it to Windows, using Microsoft
Visual C++. We have separated the user interface from the database engine.

We will need an integrated player in both environments, and would like to
use the VideoLAN Client. From reading your documentation, it would seem best
to install Linux on at least one of my machines, either a dual G4-1000 Mac
or a Dell 1000 desktop. I have plenty of drive space on both systems. (They
are setup for Video editing).

Which machine do you suggest I start with, and which distribution of Linux?
I will need to eventually move the code to the other compilers, but it will
be much easier if I have a working model to start with.

Thanks,

Larry
