Well maybe it should be done in aout_FormatPrepare but currently it isn't. 
Current cvs was segfaulting on win32 because of this.

I didn't know what was the best place to fix this, so maybe fixing 
aout_FormatPrepare() would have been enough but I didn't have enough time 
to investigate this.
