thanks, I tried in the meantime the sdl.c version 1.9 from CVS and it compiles again.

But there is always the problem with playing MPEG files:

118 (22:Invalid argument)

the last working VLC-0.50 was vlc-snapshot-20020710 and vlc-0.4.6.
Is there any solution ?
