   cd to /Application/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS
   type ./VLC --filter transform --transform-type 180 a_movie_file

   and you will see it flipped.

   Type ./VLC -H for more help.

   Make an icon to always revert the video using the "transform" filter.

   You can also go to the preferences, in "Video", select the transform
 filter, and in "Modules", select the transform_type you want for the
 video_filter transform.
