   I've found a workaround for the configure "mistake", I'm not sure why
 it works but commenting PKG_CHECK_MODULES lines in the configure script
 made the whole thing work.
   I can only assume it's autoconf's fault, so I'll downgrade it a
 bit and see if it doesn't show up anymore, then I may publish my
 /usr/local/ if you're interested.
