[vlc-devel] Re: transcode - audio down-mix

Unfortunately I do need to transcode. I play the DVDs (which has AC3 5.1
audio) and save the TS output stream to a 2 channel output (VLC option). The
hardware player can play a transport stream with 2 channels (mpga codec).
This way I can share the saved files between vlc player on the PC and the
hardware player which outputs on a TV.

By the way, is there any way of selecting which 2 channels get transcoded -
I understand they are front left and front right channels. That might be a
short term alternative.

  Yet I'm not sure he actually needs to transcode to achieve what he
wants...
