Apparently you copied over an old version of the files in a brand new tree.
Just open your patch files in an text editor to see what that gives... 
basically your patch removes lots of recent changes.

When you want to send a patch against the cvs/svn version you are working 
with, just do a "cvs diff -u modules/video_output/directx > mypatch" or 
"svn diff modules/video_output/directx > mypatch" if you are working with 
subversion instead of cvs.
