Dear fenrir:

I have learned from you by http://www.via.ecp.fr/via/ml/vlc-devel/200311/msg00456.html

You said that:

"Update of /cvs/videolan/vlc/modules/codec/ffmpeg
Modified Files:
	ffmpeg.c

Log Message:
 * ffmpeg: added h264 codec."

Now I have several questions to be asked as follows:

1)
In http://www.videolan.org/vlc/features.html,
it seems that
Input formats could be "MPEG ES/PS/TS" etc., but there are no *.264(H.264-encoded file derived from JVT JM7.6).
i.e. the *.264 can't be input to VLC.

But If I want to transport a H.264-encoded file over a MPEG-2 stream, what should I do for it?

2)
In http://www.videolan.org/vlc/features.html,
it seems that
Video Codecs could be "H263/H263i" etc., but could VLC support for H.264 Video Codecs?

Someone said that:"the latest archive (SVN or CVS) has support for H.264. "
I have successfully compiled VLC for windows myself to make use of it.
I had done all process according to "INSTALL.win32" in the source code tree for VLC.

I had downloaded a file named "vlc-0.7.1.tar.gz " from http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-sources.html
and had got the additionnal libraries from http://download.videolan.org/pub/testing/win32/contrib-20040229-win32-bin-gcc3.3.1-only.tar.bz2

But that was not the latest version, how could I get the latest version of SVN source code to be compiled?

3)
In http://www.videolan.org/streaming/features.html,
it seems that in
"Muxer / audio and video formats matrix", Video formats could be "H/I 263"+"TS", but could VLC streaming support for
H.264 Video format over MPEG-2 TS streaming?

And it seems that in
"Possible output formats for the transcoding module", Video formats could be "H/I 263" etc., but what does it mean and how could
H.264 codec be presented in VLC? How could I do for a demo?

4)
I could not use mail list in http://www.videolan.org/support/lists.html
I subscribe to the "vlc at videolan.org (user discussions about VLC)", but there is no reply.

Thank you in advance.

Best Regards,
Yours sincerely,
Jakelee,
