I think this load times are related to memory usage. When I try to open one
of the upx-enabled nightlies on my laptop (winxp) something alocates 600mb
ram causing the poor little computer to start trashing wildly for a very
long time. I guess for people with lots of ram upx will give a speedup due
to fewer disc reads, but when the swapping starts the gain is soon lost.
