We actually plan to scrap most of them after the next release ;)
Right now I'd personnaly recommend "dvdsimple" if you don't care about menus 
support or for streaming. I'd also recommend dvdnav for menus support (more 
stable than dvdplay) if you don't mind a few missing features like having 
the possibility to switch titles/chapters on the fly via the interface 
menus. Otherwise, dvdplay will still be the way to go for dvd menus support 
in this release.
