I've wrote the following yesterday:

Well later on yesterday, I've found a possibility how to fix that. You 
can find an archive with two patched files at 
<http://www.aenneburghardt.de/fkdesign/vlc/intf.tgz>. These files have 
to be committed to the directory modules/gui/macosx. It would be nice, 
if someone could do that, although version 0.7.0 is already released.
