Hi Jason,

I've built a new libcdio and libcdio-devel rpm (0.68) that seems to
satisfy vlc needs. Take a look at 
http://fett.ethz.ch/~spindler/vlc-rpm/rpms-for-vlc.tbz2

The *-devel rpms have the necessary package info .pc files.
