[vlc-devel] MacOS build - ffmpeg problem

Hi

Following the instructions on
http://developers.videolan.org/vlc/osx-compile.html.

Im compiling with make src, and it bails out at ffmpeg :( I
successfully get the source from CVS, and then it begins patching. The
following happens:

patch -p 0 < Patches/ffmpeg.patch.cvs
patching file ffmpeg/libavcodec/dsputil.h
Hunk #1 succeeded at 554 with fuzz 1 (offset 67 lines).
patching file ffmpeg/libavcodec/eval.c
patching file ffmpeg/libavcodec/libpostproc/Makefile
patching file ffmpeg/libavcodec/resample.c
Hunk #1 FAILED at 49.
1 out of 1 hunk FAILED -- saving rejects to file
ffmpeg/libavcodec/resample.c.rej
patching file ffmpeg/libavformat/rtsp.c
patching file ffmpeg/libavformat/tcp.c
make[1]: *** [ffmpeg] Error 1
make: *** [src] Error 2

Could someone tell me if this is because it's an ffmpeg snapshot (ie
not a stable release, and therefore a problem with ffmpeg) or whether
there is anything I can do regarding videolan? I also tried the
changing the makefile to download the version of ffmpeg that's
commented-out instead of retrieve from cvs: this didnt work either
(it's v0.4.8 I think - maybe too old?).

any suggestions?

Mark

PS....btw for anyone that's interested, the download URLs are incorrect
in /extras/contrib/src/packages.mak for LIBEML and LIBMATROSKA. I
checked them in a browser, and found the specific versions of the
packages arent hosted at the defined locations although previous
versions are available there. Instead I changed the paths to reflect
where the appropriate files are hosted on videolan.org (ie
http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/vlc/0.7.2/contrib/). Maybe
this is helpful to someone...
