[vlc-devel] input_GetInfo and canonicalizing information

I see in src/input/input_info there is an input_AddInfo, and a
input_DelInfo, but no input_GetInfo. Shouldn't there be? 

The reason this comes up is that in front-ends one might want to set
default selections based on this info. For example if one is playing a
VCD, perhaps under Open Disk, a VCD tab should be the default. Perhaps
the MRL set in the frontend should initially be the current MRL if
something is playing.

And if a input_GetInfo were added so that things could retrieve pieces
of information, probably there should be some sort of standard set of
items.  Things that come to mind are the kind of thing being played
(CDDA, VCD, DVD, ...).
