[vlc-devel] embedding the vlc player in an application's display window...not a webpage

I'm trying to embed the vlc player in another application's display
window...not a webpage,  on the windows operating system. But I have no clue
as to where to even start. So can anyone give me some advice about their own
experiences (if you've done this before) and maybe point me to some sites
which provide info on this subject. Plz do keep in mind though that I've
never done this before and so am a complete newbie to this subject - hope
this doesn't discourage u from replying because this is important - so if u
could make your explanations as simple as possible, I would greatly
appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
