Hi,

http://www.videolan.org/doc/videolan-howto/en/usesout.html
This page is in German, so I found the corresponding English page.
http://www.videolan.org/doc/videolan-howto/en/ch09.html

It has the following information.

-------------------------
Stream in RTP :

on the server, run :
% vlc -vvv input_stream --sout
'#rtp{dst=192.168.0.12,port=1234,sdp=http://server.example.org:8080/test
.sd
p}'

on the client(s), run :
% vlc http://server.example.org:8080/test.sdp

--------------------------

I am not sure how to create this "test.sdp" file that is being referred
to
in this page. Does VLC create it for you when it starts decoding stream
from sources like TV card?

Thanks.
