[vlc-devel] Memory problems in video play

I'm playing a video on a linux pda using vlc. Perhaps due to the slow 
processor on the pda, it's consuming a lot of memory during video play. 
Is there a way I can limit the amount of memory (put max buffer size, 
etc)? Alternatively, can I use some other player to play a vod rtp:// 
stream?
