[vlc-devel] Preferences crash issues after update

Many users seem to be having problems when updating VLC (which is quite
normal). We should find a way to prevent the preferences crash issues,
or at least give the user a hint about the problem. Concerning the win32
version, that could be acheived by adding some hudge text in red in the
installer ... but that doesn't really suit me. Any one have an idea ?
