Hi again,

Many moons ago I wrote in that MP4 http streams did not fair well over 
slower links using VLC. A typical encoding would stop shortly after it 
began. Mplayer did not exhibit this behavior. I believe suggestions from 
the list were orientated around changing the caching that is done on the 
stream.

Since then I've watched the changes to mp4 and once in a while I retry 
the stream.

Today when I started the stream, it did not appear to hang, even after a 
few starts. But... it is still dropping out because soon after it 
starts, the video no longer updates, then the audio stales, and the 
ffmpeg frame dropped because it is too far behind errors begin... On the 
bright side though it keeps happily downloading the feed, at least 
according to the progress bar, which is better than before :).
