Thanks for your reply. I finally have a lead. I deleted modules cache from 
/root/.vlc and during the first start of VLC i got:

[00000001] main vlc warning: cannot load module 
`/usr/local/lib/vlc/stream_out/libstream_out_switcher_plugin.so' 
(/usr/local/lib/vlc/stream_out/libstream_out_switcher_plugin.so: undefined 
symbol: avcodec_init)

Now I know where to dig. Strange that this had no influence on successful 
compilation of VLC source code (probably there was a warning that I missed).
