[vlc-devel] directx resize gives black rectangles 050525 nightly and previous

I would submit a screenshot, but capturing a DirectX window seems to
leave the entire video area black, as is the case with all DirectX
video windows.

So, a description of the problem is that with the wxWidgets interface,
any window repaint can leave a black rectangle on the video screen
where the repaint happened, which does not go away until the window is
forced to repaint again (which could leave a new black rectangle in
it's place). I think this is due to the fact that there are two video
windows in the code, one that is entirely unused on windows but that
is a child of the "real" video window.
