Compiling and repackaging the RPM spec files for all the dependencies of 
VLC and then finally VLC itself. Go to the download page 
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-fedora.html for the RPM packages 
and spec-files there. Or alternatively start at the unofficial SuSE 
packages: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-suse.html
