It appears I had some shared /usr/lib/libvlc* libraries that were being
included in the compiles. I removed them, updated wxWidgets to 2.6 and I
now have my default skin back :). It wasn't the wxWidgets upgrade as I
had done that first and it did not fix the problem.
On this same machine I also have to enable vlc_WORKAROUNDLDFLAGS to get
a compile to work, so obvious it's time to renew my laptop distribution :).
