Thanks a lot for your comment and for the offer. Because of its many
dependencies, VLC is unfortunatelly no easy software to package (hence
the lack of good SUSE packages). The first step I could advise you to
take would be to read a good documentation on RPM packaging, if you
haven't yet. Then you'll need to write spec file for VLC and perhaps
fome some of its dependencies too. Redhat/Mandriva/existing SUSE
packages can be taken as an help...
