The above items can be replaced by using an already existing
cross-compiler, eg: from the Zaurus development environment or
OpenEmbedded (www.openembedded.org) or from Dan Kegels crosstool
(www.kegel.com).
These can be found on: http://download.videolan.org we keep a copy of
external libraries where each release of VLC is built against.
