[vlc-devel] Timestamp Issue

Hi!
as far is I am concerned vlc uses ffmpeg.
my question: why doesn't vlc shows a timestamp/timecode for my mpeg file??
if I open the same file with ffmpeg, I get the correct lenght of the video.
 
why doesnt vlc shows the timecode and ffmpeg does?
