[vlc-devel] Translation question

I wonder if the main window title should be translatable.
The title says just "VLC media player".

In Swedish (and other languages) it will be "The media player VLC"
(Mediaspelaren VLC).

Should it be translatable or just in English?
How about the .desktop file? Should a small description be part of the
POT file?
