The Amino set-top box uses a (very) non-standard variant of the RTSP 
protocol, which VLC (when run as a RTSP server) does not support.

Instead, I suggest running the "testOnDemandRTSPServer" or 
"live555MediaServer" demo server applications, which are bundled with 
the "LIVE555 Streaming Media" software: 
<http://www.live555.com/liveMedia/>.  (Of course, for this to work, 
your input data (to these server applications) must be a MPEG 
Transport Stream file.)
