Hello,

I get a patch for VLC from an anonymous OSS expert.

That corrects the fact that vlc feed too small buffers to OSS driver, so need an higher interrupt rate, and require vlc to be fast enough to feed the buffer.

It does the proper buffer calculation based on sample rate, sample size, channels, ...

He told me it was _PORTABLE_ and the _PROPER WAY_ of doing buffer sizing.

I was able to test it successfully on FreeBSD, but don't understand the half of the quarter of what this patch does.

I also saw that the OSS module hasn't been updated in 3 years, and don't know who's the expert for that kind of things.

I hope someone has the hability to review it

He wants to stay anonymous, but please read one comment he made about the OSS module:

"""
well.. install vlc.. use it.. until your blood reach its boiling point and your brain explode like rocket.. there you go.. easy way to reach for the top of mountains :)
"""
