Hey George,
in that commit is a stupid bug so it won't work for now, but I'm
working with 2 other guys on that issue (they got the knowledge, I do
the testing ;-) ) so we'll have a good fix pretty soon. For the
meantime, I'll fix my work-around.
Anyway, you can also enable this work-around manually (I just found
that option, I didn't know about it earlier) in the nightly builds
before September 14th but after mid August (the x264 module was
removed in later builds to prevent crashes but leading to your error
message). Go to the preferences, then to Input / Codecs -> Video
Codecs -> x264 and disable the "CPU Optimisations" flags at the
bottom of the list. H.264 encoding will be slower as usual, but it
will work.
I'll fire up a new nightly build in a minute including a fixed work-
around and the x264 module. It should be finished in about 2 hours
and will be available at the usual locations.
Concerning what change is in which build:
The builds are started at 0 o'clock CEST each night. Every commit
that is received before is automatically included. Any later fix will
have to wait for the next build. By having a look at the buildbot
website, you can also figure out the current configure lines, so you
can guess which modules will be available, but this isn't always
correct. At present, the configure line states that x264 is included,
but in fact it isn't because it was disabled at another point, so
just trust us on this ;-)
Best regards,
Felix
