[vlc-devel] does --disable-plugins in configure work?

I've used it with 0.8.5 and new snapshots on win32 with cygwin.

When I use --disable-plugins, I can't link (there are undefined
externals).

The reason I'm looking at this is rebase core's on my system -- and
the newest copy of rebase doesn't seem to build with my cc compiler
(3.4.4).
