[vlc-devel] VLC architecture question

Hi,

I'm trying to understand the architecture of VLC in order to be able to 
add a new ES Category for private data streams (in my case carrying 
video geospatial annotation data in KLVA format).

Is the following reasonably correct:  The purpose of packetizers is to 
reassemble transport packets into PES packets for either muxers or 
decoders which require complete frames?

Do stream out modules inherently expect PES packets as input?

Am I missing anything here?
