It's great that we can harmonize the build system. It reduces automake 
processing a lot, it allows running the unit tests on win32, and build 
libvlc-control properly.

However, it looks like -no-undefined has been accidentally removed from 
non-Win32 builds there. It was a nice sanity check, at least on Linux.
