Maybe related to this (maybe not)... since 0.8.6, there seems to be a
seeking problems  with MPEG1 files: seeking backwards from a given
position (P), the "time" variable of the input object will not get
updated (it will remain at P) until reaching P again, where it will then
increase normally. However, the movie itself plays at the desired
position.

The strange thing is that I could not reproduce this using the GUI, but
it happens when using the libvlc API, or even directly mingling with the
p_input variables (which is basically what libvlc_set_time does).

Does anyone have a clue, either on how to fix this, or how to
investigate this issue ?
