Another issue is the pending support for Mac OS X 10.3.9. We used to  
support this through out our 0.8.6 series with certain limitations  
(often crashes on quit, but not always). I'm currently working on a  
LD fix which should solve these problems, but in case that I don't  
succeed, I think it is fine for the majority of our users to drop  
support for this version of Mac OS X, as its share is only about 15  
per cent of all Mac OS X users and VLC usually targets technically  
advanced people who run newer releases anyway. Additionally, VLC  
0.8.6c is a fine final release for 10.3, as it supports most file  
formats people expect without including too evil bugs.
